Patrick Marín Elbers
Patrick graduated as dancer from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, Netherlands and in 1993 joined the Nederlands Dans Theater until 2009, creating and working with choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Hans van Manen, William Forsythe, Nacho Duato, Paul Lightfoot & Sol León, Johan Inger, Gideon Oberzanek, Jorma Elo, Crystal Pite, Tero Saarinen among others.
In 2009, Patrick founded Stepping Grounds arts/culture management business.Stepping Grounds B.V. currently represents artists such as Alexander Ekman, Anouk van Dijk, Mikael Karlsson, Mari Carrasco, Rafael Bonachela, Juanjo Arqués, Thierry Malandain, Medhi Walerski and Tom Visser. From 2013 until present, Patrick has worked on multiple projects for stage, film and exhibitions for Kylián Productions as artistic assistant to Jiří Kylián. These include the stage works: East Shadow, Fortune Cookies / his films: Schwarzfahrer, Scalamare and his exhibitions: Free Fall, Moving Still, Still Moving.
Patrick is an active consultant for several worldly cultural institutions, focusing on internationalisation and co-production exchanges in the global cultural landscape. Since 2018, Patrick has been actively coaching and mentoring choreographers associated with Korzo Theater (The Hague) in their career strategy and international ambitions. From the season 2023/2024 onwards, Patrick curates the International Dance Series at the Opera House in Bonn, Germany, which presents a variety of internationally acclaimed dance companies every year.
