Jiří Kylián explains: I have chosen the ports de bras for our performance wittingly.

They will be delivered by approximately 50 Czech National Ballet dancers: in unison and, let us hope, in concord too. Yet amid these ports de bras, which are so typical for our profession, there will also be scope for an explosion of improvisation, conveying individuality and freedom.

In relation to the interpretation of these parts, Jiří Kylián prompts the dancers to bear in mind the following qualities: 

  1. Veracity and profound immersion.
  2. Comprehensibility.
  3. Energy.
  4. Dynamism.
  5. The fact that everything is happening now, at this very moment, and that time runs extremely fast.

Perhaps such qualities the dancers are expected to attain could become generally valid. Inspiring us in our everyday lives.
