Testing the sculpture installation and its illumination
The life-size sculptures have been printed, cut in half, pasted together and polished. Now we will focus on another important phase: installation of the sculptures on the windows and how they will be illuminated at night.
Following a number of experiments, we are checking the manner of fixing the sculptures to the windows so they come across as flying through the glass. The glue’s composition will, however, remain a secret. We are glad that the sculptures stick well to the glass and that we have also found a way of uninstalling them that does not splinter the windows.
Jiří Kylián is fine-tuning the objects’ ideal layout. It is actually a composition in space, seeking the ideal shape and meaning – a choreography of its own kind. Slowly all the pieces begin to fall into place.
Illumination is another important aspect. We have asked lighting experts AV Media for their advice and together with Jiří Kylián they play with shadows and intensity, colours and filters. It promises to be a luminous evening.
